Thanks to all those who so graciously helped!
A new (THIRTY-SECOND ANNIVERSARY!) recording of The Planemaker
Kind of a "How we want it to sound now that we're grown-ups" version.
("What it was before--and more! No fake oboes!")
Amazing veteran players Sam Cardon, Rich Dixon, Todd Sorenson, and Rob Honey packed the rhythm section. Strings, winds, and other orchestral sparkles. This is fun!
Stay tuned! Release date coming soon. And possible new live concert!
Two Christmas projects, the first, a novel that will serve as the basis for a musical play, called
about a gorgeous old Martin guitar that gets pawned, and the redemption of both the guitar and the young lady who pawned it. The second is a children's book called
NO ROOM IN THE INN
based on the surmise that Joseph & Mary may not have been the only ones to arrive in Bethlehem after the "No Vacancy" signs went up.
I'm working hard on the second (I've finished the first and third) in a series of seven historical novels for Utah fourth-graders. The action in this one begins in Mississippi and travels the Mormon Trail to Utah. It's called
OSCAR ON THE MORMON TRAIL
(A WEBSITE COMPRISING A KID'S TV STATION, A KID'S RADIO STATION, ART GALLERY, CLUBHOUSE, SANCTUARY! READ MORE ABOUT IT AT THE LINK IN THIS PARAGRAPH.)
My pals at Peace Mountain Mediaworks and I are working hard to create a series of broadcastable entertainments arising out of the spirit and songs of our long-lived audio series called "Scripture Scouts." A Mormon "Sesame Street," if you can imagine that (and we can, vividly). The first script is written, some of it shot, and the concept pretty much in full flower. (I'll post some here soon.) We have some powerful partners and are confident that we'll reach millions more children than in the past.
